This is the OLD Living Room! You actually just "fell" into the living room when you entered into the Front Door. Now, this area is our foyer, 1/2 bath, and coat closet! The 1/2 bath is actually where that front door used to sit, and that window is no longer there.
The Livingroom when it was finally "gutted" and ready for its transformation!
HERE IS THE NEW FOYER AREA! We added a 1/2 bath, centered a new front door, and to the right is a coat closet!
Another view! This is the Old solid wall that lead into the first floor bedroom (which is now our Dining Room)! We opened up that wall so we could have access from the livingroom to the dining room.
The new "Opening" into the Livingroom! This is looking in from the diningroom to the livingroom. It is a 6 ft. opening, so it is nice and large!
Another view from the Diningroom to the living room...oops, don't mind the dog food bowls...lol
Another view of the Entry.
There is the 1/2 Bath door to the left.
The New Coat Closet to the Right.

Love Love Love it all Char. You did a fabulous job and you used your space so wisely!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

ReplyDeleteI definitely love your new flow. I know what you mean... when you came to our old house, you fell into the living room and there was no where to put coats, etc. Now we have a real entryway and I love it! It really does make a huge difference! You do have a simple and uncluttered look in there and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteChar,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of a little extra space ~ having an extra necessary room and a closet are such a plus in a home.

Oh Char,
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and I know first hand what pains that go along with ALL that work.
JUST BEAUTIFUL!
That is my goal ... and my decorating style from now on ... "plain and simple".
I am editing out all the stuff the "looks good" but serves no purpose other than to be dusted. I mean who has time for all that any way ... Thanks for sharing the photos.

p.s. here is the link to my post that I did 3 months ago ... on the simple decorationg style.

I love your transformation, and it is not too "bare". I am not a big fan of clutter...it gets on my nerves, especially during the winter when we tend to stay inside more. Decluttered decorating seems to be calming, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI love the new entryway and your uncluttered look. I need to take a leaf from your book and pare down my collections and dust collectors!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the pictures, you have done a great job!
Wooly hugs,
Trudy
