FARWELL 2010!

GET YOUR PARTY ON, STAY SAFE & ENJOY THE LAST DAY OF 2010!

12/30/10

What are your plans?

I was just sitting here thinking about ALL the things that still need to be done around the Homestead here.  My, Oh my!  There is still so much left to do!  Some big things...some little things (like things I just would like to make), but I have a list already started for 2011!

So, here are just a few things I would like to accomplish:

~Build another "over-the-toilet" stand for my main bath.
~Find 2 nice nightstands for my master bedroom
~Paint my, and my 2 girls bedroom furniture (everything is just a hod podge right now!)
~Finish my trunk/coffee table
~Make 2 bookcase ends along side my livingroom fireplace.  I want this to look like a large unit!
~Make 3 Primitive Stool/Benches for my Breakfast bar.
~Make a Primitive Corner Mirror Cabinet for our 1/2 bath.
~Paint our Main Bath Vanity.
~Finish my upstairs hall closet.
~Make a Primitive Towel cupboard for my main bathroom.
~Enclose our back porch for our new "mudroom".
~Fence in our entire yard.
~Build our side Deck off the Dining room.
~Install our new Pool.
~Install all our Sidewalks.
~Make our new Parking area along side our house.

Whew!  Well, that is a portion of my list...I am certain there is more to add...but, that should keep me busy for the Summer!  So, what are your plans this coming year?!

Few Homestead Pictures

Here are a few Photos so far from around my Homestead.  Still have lots of "tweeking" to do.  But, I have got some things up and unpacked!

I know I have said this...but this is my FAVORITE curbside find and now my Pewter cabinet!

Closeup view of just some of my Pewter. You will eventually see some other pieces scattered thru out my homestead.
Kitchen view.  This is looking in from my new Diningroom.
I have lots of counter space now..and I love it!  But, I do like them to look clean and uncluttered, so I tend to organize things in various wooden boxes.
I love my new double bowl, extra deep, oil rubbed bronze sink!  Complete with an oil rubbed bronze spigot.  Also, one of my favorite chandeliers in my home!

The view from my kitchen window.

My Stove area

Kitchen area...looking in from my Diningroom.

I love old Utensils

Display above my Frig.  The painted pieces are from Raggedy Jan.

An old cabinet makeover, this now sits ontop my kitchen counter.

I love Bonnets!  Notice my rough textured walls?!  I love them!  They hide every imperfection there is!

My Dining Room!  This is the view from my kitchen.  This once was the first floor bedroom!  We took down the wall to open up the first floor and made this the new dining room!

The sliding doors here were once just the bedroom window!  We will be adding a large deck to our swimming pool here in the Summer, so this will be great access for all the "Grilling" out there!

I didn't get it in this photo...but right next to my dry sink area is another doorway we added!  It ables us to go right into our living room area from the Dining room.  It was a solid wall too!

I just love textiles!

I also love old cheese boxes and paper mache boxes!

Scrub board display I have in my first floor 1/2 bath.

One of my favorite floral filled baskets!

I love to fill old glass jars with goodies!

I have mice!  Yep, the only kind I like though...the STUFFED kind!

Homespun Rag Balls I did one night while working nite shift!

I love this Primitive Church!

Well, that's all for now.  Hoping to get a few more things unpacked and placed around the home soon!

Just wanted to let you all know...

That I will still be sharing LOTS of new crafts with you this year! However, I will not be adhering to a schedule this year with them. I still have alot of things to finish here at the Homestead, and didn't want to commit to anything yet. But, I have lots of ideas floating around in this little ol' pea-brain that I am dying to make and share with all of you!

So, check in often...as I will be sharing lots of pictures inside the new Homestead, as well as lots of craft projects!

NEW YEAR=NEW SWAP!

Wow!  I have really been itching to do swap!  So, with the holidays past & most of my unpacking is completed...I am ready to swap!  I thought I would get back to doing a few "themed" type swaps.  I kinda like narrowing down the choices of things I should include.  Or my mind just runs crazy and I can't decide what to include in my packages!  LOL

So, here is our first swap for the New Year! It will include 5 of your favorite things!  I know we all have certain things that we really enjoy!  Whether they be:  Candles, Textiles, Stitcheries, Wooden items, Dolls, Gameboards, baskets, etc., we all favorite things we like to surround ourselves with!  So, I thought...why not share some of your favorite items with another Prim friend?!  You might even introduce your partner to a whole new "favorite" for them!  So, If you would like to play along...please read all the instructions first before emailing me.

"5 OF MY FAVORITE THINGS"  SWAP

There are a few basic rules we must all play by and here they are:

~You MUST have posted with me atleast 3 times or more! (I will check too if I don't recognize your name, but I know most of my commenters anyways!) Just making sure I am familiar with you.

~You MUST have a blog of your own. This is blog land and I know that some of you like to just leave comments from your email accounts, but I prefer you have a blog for swapping. That just shows commitment to blogging.

~You MUST commit to sending atleast 5 items in your package to your partner! Atleast ONE of them being handmade by YOU!!! We all cherish those handmade items!

~You MUST include 3 different type items!  Please don't send just 5 of one type item!  I know you don't just have one favorite thing you like!  So, send a nice variety box to your partner, please!  Let's make this box fun to open!

~Your package MUST be atleast a $20 value! This just makes it fair for everyone who plays.

~You MUST be on time! Sorry, I HATE late packages! Just a pet peeve of mine! Nothing like anxiously awaiting a package to find it shows up 2 months late! I know all you swappers will agree with me if you ever had to wait! So, don't wait til the last minute to start your swap!

~You MUST thank your partner when you receive your goodies! I HATE ungratefulness!!! I know we are all busy, but we all make time to check our emails & read them Blogs-don't we?! So, thank your partner for your package! I don't care if everything was NOT to your liking..a "thanks" will never hurt anyone!

~You MUST get a Delivery Confirmation # when your package has been sent out! You MUST email me that number too! That if there is any lost packages, we can hopefully track them done, and know for sure that you sent it & on time too!

~You MUST have your Info to me by midnite, (EST) December 31st!. I will get the Swap names out to everyone on January 3rd, to start off the new year!.

~You MUST mail out your package by February 15th! This gives everyone approximately 6 weeks to complete their swap!

~Lastly, but MOST IMPORTANT: GIVE AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECIEVE!!! I always say, "I wouldn't give a package to someone, if I would not want to recieve!" So, that is why I usually always make exactly the same thing for myself as I make for all of you! LOL

~This will be a "One on One" Swap. So, once I gather all the names, I will email everyone their partners!

~This is open to USA & Canadian Residents only. Sorry, the Postal Service is killing us with Shipping anymore! I hope you International swappers still love us! I always try and pair up Canada with Canada & U.S. with the U.S....just makes is more cost effective for Swappers!

Now, I will trust that everyone who wants to play is willing to play by the rules! But, just in case there are those of you that end up not (this has happened before!), as I tell my children: There are consequences to every action; Good or bad? You decide! So, If you don't play by the Rules, you WILL be blocked from my Blog!!!

Sorry, I know life happens, that is why I say, "Don't wait til the last minute to start your swap!"Remember, Blog land is a Huge Arena we play in....but, it runs in very SMALL circles! I know we all like to leave good impressions on our SMALL circle of friends!

Okay, I know that all seemed so very harsh with Rules & Regulations...but, they are really just Swapping Courtesy I think! Just want to make sure this Swap turns out a "Good One not Gone Bad"!
So, if you are interested in doing this swap....click on the "email me" icon on my right side toolbar. I will need your Blog Name, Name, & mailing addy. Also, I DO respond to every swap email and let you know I "added" you. So, if you don't get my email within a day, make sure you email me again as I probably didn't recieve it the first time! I hope I didn't scare anyone away! I would love for you to come and play!

I am back!

Hello everyone!  I sure have missed you all!  I hope your Holidays were filled with family, friends, love & laughter!  Well, we are finally all moved into our new home...and it feels AWESOME!  We got to share Thanksgiving & Christmas here with family, and we so enjoyed it!  I have been slowly unpacking all my Prim goodies and getting things put into place.  I really missed seeing all my things around me!!!

I will be sharing some pictures soon with all of you!  Until then, here is one of my favorite pieces of furniture.  This was a "curbside find" a few years ago.  Since then, I removed the glass doors, replaced the glass shelves with wood, repainted the old 1950's honey colored stained with several layers of paint, then sanded and distressed it.  It is now filled with some of my favorite Pewter pieces!

Here is a closer look inside (it is actually my new header picture).   Eeekkkk! We have mice!
