Makeover Monday!

I know these were a really big hit last year....Brown Trees! So, I thought I would give one of my Alpine Trees a little makeover. I wanted to give it a kinda "dying" look. I know, that sounds strange!!! But, I thought it might fit in little better if it too look like it has some "age" to it...like everything else in my decor. Besides, I really like the brown tone with my Silicone dipped Mustard-colored lights!

Here is the VERY green tree:

Here is the After! All I did was take and lightly spray all around the tree with Rustoleum Brown Primer Spray Paint. I did not want the whole tree covered in the Brown paint, so I just did a light random spray. Looks more like it is starting to "die" off some. I like it much better!

A closer look at the tree branches:

So, if you are tired of the really "green" look of your trees....take and spray them! These look great on them smaller trees, scattered around the home!

Oh how sweet is this...I really love this look. I can't wait to see what it looks like when you get it decorated.

I bought a black tree this year. A small one, I believe it is 3 or 3 1/2 ft. I added solid red decorations on it, and set it in my dining room. I just adore it. I am going to get pictures posted this week. You'll have to keep watching.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea. Makes the tree look so much more real. Straight from the forest.

My sister and I were discussing ideas of how to make an artificial tree brown. We wondered if we could bleach out the branches like is done with the bottle brush trees.
Your way is certainly easier and it looks great.
I'm going to try it on mine.
