I pledge allegience to the flag

Thought I would share one of my recent makeovers with all of you. My dad gave me this Vintage Ironing Board a while back. Well, I finally got it out and did a little "Patriotic" makeover on it! I don't have any before pictures of it, but it was just a plain wooden top. The legs are a vintage green color that I did leave untouched, as they are nice and rusty in certain areas!

I might use this someday for a sofa table, but for now it will prop up in the corner proudly sporting it's Patriotism!

Here is a close up of the top:

I also stenciled the 'pledge of allegience' on it:

So, the next time you have an item and want to give it a "makeover"....make it over into an American Flag!

  2. That is a fabulous idea. I have two vintage ironing boards...one that we use in our craft booth for display. The other, however, has no specific use...and this would be perfect.

  4. Oh Char I just love it. I have several ironing boards, I will have to try this. I just think Santa Claus with ironing boards. But I just love this. When I get home might have to get out that old Ironing Board and do the flag.
Thanks again for inspiration to try to do new things with old vintage things.
